The FC8000 series high-performance cutting plotter is an industry leader for sign makers, graphic artists, automotive aftermarket professionals, countertop installers and other related users.
I need some info! First of all, has anyone checked out this site? I was looking at the CB09UA holder and CB09 blades for my FC8000, since I use the CB15U 45 for sandmask and vinyl. Now that I am doing Vinyl decals and Heat Transfer shirts, I wanted to purchase another holder (CB09UA) with blades so I don't have to keep adjusting blade length for mil change. Then I saw a Graphtec holder for Roland blades. This would cut my blade purchase in half by purchasing Roland blades, which I use with my Copam CP2500.
Consequently, the Graphtec CB09 blade has a slingshot spring on it. I wanted to know the purpose of this spring compare to the Roland blades has none. Will not having the spring affect the performance of the plotter.
Does this place use resharpened blades? Any response would be helpful.
Hello, I have a Graphtec FC7000mk2-75 which I use CB09UA(1) BLUE CAP I also have a Seiki which uses Roland blades, that Roland blade is too large in diameter, to fit thru the CB09UA holder.the Graphetic spring is keeping the blade from coming all the way thru the holder, I do not change the length of blade for different mil vinyl. Mostly i use 3 mil outdoor vinyl, and that is what I cut the most, but if I am am going to change to thicker, like chrome.
I change the force. Not the blade length. If you go into your cutting controller.click, list, edit you will have a screen come up that shows what force goes with each mil (type) of vinyl.
Or at least close.
There is a design department where I work and they use CorelDraw X4 to create their designs and then they use Cutting Master 2.1.60 Build 1446 to either have them drawn out or cut on vinyl. They have been using this setup without too much trouble on four Windows XP SP3 machines until recently when their machines were replaced. The new machines are running Windows 7 x64 and for reasons beyond what I or anyone at Graphtec have been able to figure out so far aren't playing nice. The new machines have the exact same version of CorelDraw and Cutting Master installed as the old ones. I am using the latest 64 bit driver from Graphtec's website and they assure me the driver will support Windows 7.
The specific issue is that when we open up Cutting Master and try a test cut we recieve an error 'Cannot Open Port'The plotter's IP address is 10.0.1.41 and it can be pinged from any of the Windows 7 systems. You have to select cutting plotters and then the FC8000 but then the drivers on the right side of the window list what I pasted in the previous message.' I have tried giving the Windows 7 systems static IP addresses in the same range as the printer (10.0.1.XXX) and that hasn't made any changes.' The IP address the printer itself is reporting is not outside the range (it reads 10.0.1.4) but the TCP/IP port the printer is installed through on the Windows XP machine is 10.1.4.1 which is outside the normal range this network uses. Two of our design users are going to be out tomorrow so I'm going to try and spend a day on the phone with Graphtec and see if we can't get this worked out.
I'll keep you posted and thanks for the help 3S. Not sure exactly what fixed it but in the end I got it working. I let Corel do a repair to itself making sure the VB plugin was included, reinstalled Cutting Master and reinstalled the plotter on each of the machines.
One of them apparently had some more serious issues so I just re-imaged it and went from there.Long story short I guess I don't know why re-installing all that crap the first time around didn't work but given that I have a happy design department I won't worry about it too much. Thanks for the assistance 3S and now we know that regardless of what some of their documentation says it will work with Windows 7.
